Hypnotherapy is a type of complimentary and alternative system of healing in which the mind is used in an attempt to help with a variety of problems such as breaking bad habits or coping with stress, etc.

Clinical Hypnosis is an altered state of awareness, perception or consciousness that is used by licensed and trained doctors, practitioners or therapists for treating a psychological or physical ailment. It is a highly relaxed state. It is a state of inner absorption, concentration and focused attention.

In hypnotherapy, the client is highly relaxed in a trance like state but not asleep. At the same time, the therapist can access the subconscious mind of the client to heal and to give positive suggestions.

Hypnotherapy is extremely safe and effective as it reaches the root cause of the problem and eliminates it. It is pertinent to note that the client is conscious and in control at all times which also busts the famous myth of people not being able to come out of their hypnotized state of mind.

Theory of the Mind

The mind is a ball of energy all around us and is located in the abdomen from which the term “gut feeling” has been derived. The mind is divided into two parts out of which the conscious mind forms 10 to 12 percent while the subconscious mind forms about 88 to 90 percent.

The subconscious mind is 6000 times more powerful than the conscious mind. An analogy to this is an iceberg with the tip forming the conscious mind and the rest of it, which is invisible is the subconscious mind. As simply said all the questions are in the conscious mind and all the answers stored in the subconscious mind.

The subconscious mind is like a data bank which has memories of all our experiences and beliefs from our childhood as well as the past lives that we may have lived.

Therefore, the main purpose of hypnotherapy is to help the client reach the sub-conscious levels of his mind and retrieve the solutions to his problems.
